Main data processing information:

Personal data collected via GlobalTips application and the designated website (together the “Platform”) is processed by GlobalTips Europe, UAB, a company established in Lithuania, legal entity code 305942984, registered address Lviv str. 25-104, LT-09320 Vilnius, Lithuania ("Company” or “GlobalTips”). GlobalTips will be mainly acting as a data controller of the personal data collected from the users of its service (e.g., payers, salespeople, waiters, hosts, administrators, concierges and other service providers) (hereinafter – the “Users”).

Our main data processing purposes:

  • Provision of services (legal basis being the performance of the contractual obligations between GlobalTips and the User). GlobalTips and the User enters into the contractual relationships when the User accepts our relevant Terms and Conditions.
  • Customer service, including but not limited to, answering questions and responding to feedback or complaints from our Users (based on our legitimate interest).
  • Administration of the feedback (our legal basis for processing this data is performance of contractual obligations), for this purpose we collect IP address, time and other personal information, if you choose to leave it in your feedback. We urge the payers to avoid leaving their personal data.
  • Improvement of our Platform (by analyzing the user experience) (legal basis is your consent to the use of analytical cookies).
  • Statistical purposes (legal basis is your consent to use of statistical cookies).
  • Direct marketing (legal basis is the User’s consent provided in our website).

Your data subject rights: to obtain information about your stored personal data, the right to correct and transmit your data and, if necessary, to object to (when data is processed based on our legitimate interest or your consent), restrict the processing of, or deleting of, your personal data. You also have a right to submit a claim at the Data Protection authority of the country of your residence.

Data security

This Privacy policy explains how personal data is collected and further processed by the data controller when the User is using our no-cash tip solution and/or otherwise interacts with us in relation to the provision of services. Please read this document carefully because it explains how your personal data is processed by us.

Our main data processing purposes and legal bases:

  • Provision of services (legal basis being the performance of the contractual obligations between GlobalTips and the User). Your personal data will be processed until you have an account with us or, in case of a payer.
  • Customer service, including, but not limited to answering questions and responding to feedback and complaints (based on our legitimate interest – to provide good customer service). We urge you to withhold any sensitive personal information and provide only a short description of a matter.
  • Administration of a feedback (our legal basis for processing this data is performance of contractual obligations deriving from our Terms and Conditions). WE URGE YOU TO WITHHOLD ANY SENSITIVE PERSONAL INFORMATION AND PROVIDE ONLY A SHORT FEEDBACK.
  • Improvement of our Platform (by using cookies and analyzing our User experience) (legal basis is your consent). We use a few cookies which allow us to track number of visitors and otherwise understand how users are using our application. We will only do that if you provide your express consent. Please note that without any adverse effect you have a right to withhold your consent or withdraw your previously given consent by contact us using our contact details provided herein.
  • For statistical purposes (legal basis is User’s consent to the use of cookies). We will only do that if you provide your express consent.   • Direct marketing (legal basis is the User’s (business owners’) consent). The business owners can request a demo version from our website. In order to send our demo version, we will collect the name, email and phone number of the interested person. We will store this data for the period of 1 month after the demo version is sent.

You are free to refuse our request for your personal information, with the understanding that we may be unable to provide you with some of your desired services.

Data retention

We only retain collected information for as long as necessary to provide you with your requested service. What data we store, we’ll protect within commercially acceptable means to prevent loss and theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification.

Data collected for the purposes of the provision of services will be stored until you have an account with us. The transaction related data will be stored for the period of up to 8 years based on the statutory requirements.

Data collected for the purposes of customer service shall be stored until your request is duly processed and answered and 6 months after that in order to be able to defend from any claims that may arise. The feedback will be stored for the period up to 1 month, unless it is necessary for the disciplinary procedure.

Data collected for purposes of improvement of our website shall be stored as long as the cookie is embedded in your end device. Please refer to cookie policy below.

Data collected for the purposes of statistics shall be stored as long as the cookie is embedded in your device. This data will be anonymized and stored until the statistical information shall be relevant for the business.

Disclosure of your information

Please note that we use a payment service provider Stripe. This service provider processes your personal data for its own business related purposes, therefore, we urge you to read carefully their terms and conditionsand privacy policy.

We may also disclose your personal information to:

  • a prospective buyer of our business or a buyer of a substantial number of the shares in our business
  • the police, other lawful enforcement body, regulatory body or court if we are under a duty or required by law to disclose or share your personal data , or to protect the rights, property, or safety of ourselves or our group companies, our customers, or others,
  • third parties where you have expressed an interest in receiving information about their goods and services, and
  • third parties we may occasionally use to provide you with the services that you have requested (for example, recruitment service provider, IT service provider). We require these third parties to not use your personal information for any other purpose.

We have a legal obligation to ensure that your personal data is kept accurate and up to date. We kindly ask you to assist us to comply with this obligation by ensuring that you inform us of any changes that have to be made to any of your personal data that we are processing.

Right to access: you have the right to request access to any data that can be considered your personal data. This includes the right to be informed on whether we process your personal data, what personal data categories are being processed by us, and the purpose of our data processing;

Right to rectification: you have the right to request that we correct any of your personal data if you believe that it is inaccurate or incomplete;

Right to object: you are entitled to object to certain processing of personal data, including for example, making automated decisions based on your personal data or when we otherwise base the processing of your personal data on our legitimate interest;

Right to restrict personal data processing: you have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data if you wish to: (i) object the lawfulness of the processing; (ii) fix unlawful processing of personal data; (iii) receive or avoid deletion of personal data for establishing or defending against legal claims; or (iv) demand restriction of the processing until assessing the plausibility of GlobalTips' legitimate interest in the specific processing activity;

Right to erasure: you may also request your personal data to be erased if the personal data is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or if you consider that the processing is unlawful, or if you consider that the personal data has to be erased to enable us to comply with a legal requirement;

Right to data portability: if your personal data is being automatically processed with your consent or on the basis of a mutual contractual relationship, you may request that we provide you that personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format. Moreover, you may request that the personal data is transmitted to another controller. Bear in mind that the latter can only be done if that is technically feasible;

Right to withdraw your consent: in cases where the processing is based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent to such processing at any time without any adverse effect;

Right to submit your claim with the supervisory authority: if you are not satisfied with our response to your request in relation to personal data or you believe we are processing your personal data not in accordance with the law, you can submit your claim with the supervisory authority in your country of residence or to the lead supervisory authority – the Lithuanian State Data Protection Inspectorate at www.ada.lt.

Please note that you will need to provide sufficient information for us to handle your request regarding your rights. Prior to answering your request, we may ask you to provide additional information for the purposes of authenticating you and evaluating your request.

Modification and deletion of personal data

If you wish to view, correct, or delete your personal information from an application developed by GlobalTips Europe UAB, or if you have any other requests concerning your personal information, please contact us via email at support@globaltips.io. When using the GlobalTips application, the following user data is requested and stored: phone number, first and last name, country and currency, bank account number, tax number (optional), address, and date of birth. We are required to keep certain personal data for specified time periods by KYC, anti-money laundering, banking, and e-money laws. These time periods vary from country to country. In case there are changes to your personal information or if you decide not to use our service anymore, you can use the following methods:

  • manage your account by correcting, updating, changing, or deleting it through the account settings in the GlobalTips application in the “Settings” section;
  • by reaching out to GlobalTips via email at support@globaltips.io. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe.
