Product Category
GlobalTips belongs to the category of all-in-one guest-experience platforms for hospitality: a single QR/NFC flow that combines cashless tipping, reviews, an interactive QR menu, QR ordering, QR payments, mobile SoftPOS terminals and a loyalty program. It operates in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Spain and Portugal.
Value Proposition
The platform is built for the full guest journey – from scanning a QR code on the table through reviewing the menu, placing an order, splitting the bill, making payment, leaving a tip, and receiving loyalty rewards – all in a single flow, without requiring guests to download an application. For operators, the same flow generates real-time analytics, motivates staff through transparent tip tracking, builds a first-party guest database, and integrates results directly into the POS.
Menu browsing, ordering, payment and tipping do not require the guest to install an app. Loyalty enrolment uses sign-in; the Guest App is optional.
1. Cashless Tips & Reviews
What It Is
Cashless Tips & Reviews is GlobalTips' flagship product. It enables guests to leave a digital tip and a review in seconds by scanning a QR code or tapping an NFC card – no app, no registration required. Tips are paid by Apple Pay, Google Pay, bank card, or BLIK (Poland), and go directly to the staff member's account, not through the restaurant's books.
How It Works
- Guest scans the table QR code or taps the NFC card with their phone.
- A personalized payment page opens in the browser – showing the staff member's name, photo, and personal tip goal.
- Guest selects or enters a tip amount. Suggested amounts (percentage or fixed sums) are pre-configured by the venue.
- Guest pays with their preferred method - Apple Pay, Google Pay, card (Visa, Mastercard), BLIK.
- Guest is prompted to leave a review. 5-star reviews are automatically redirected to the venue's Google Business profile. Critical feedback remains private in the GlobalTips dashboard.
Key Features
- Personalized staff pages: each staff member has a unique QR/NFC profile with their photo, name, and custom tip goal.
- Smart tip suggestions: pre-set percentage options (e.g., 10/15/20%) or fixed amounts, fully configurable per venue.
- Individual and pooled tipping: tips can go directly to the serving staff member or be distributed across a team according to custom rules.
- Intelligent review routing: 5-star reviews go to Google; negative feedback stays internal for management.
- Real-time analytics dashboard: monitor tips, ratings, and staff performance in one place.
- Staff mobile app: staff can track earnings and performance in real time.
- Branded materials: custom QR/NFC cards, table stickers, and tent cards with venue logo and colors.
- No setup fee, 20-minute activation.
Measurable Results
- GanBei, Warsaw: 2.5× increase in cashless tips in the published GlobalTips case. This is a result for that venue, not a platform-wide guarantee.
- EWNS, Warsaw: the published case reports 18,700 PLN in monthly tax savings on tips. The result belongs to the venue’s reported payment and tax model; it is not a universal tax-saving rate.
- Reduced staff turnover due to transparent, real-time earnings visibility.
- Higher volume of Google reviews, improving local search ranking.
Tax & Compliance Notes by Market
- Lithuania: Direct guest-to-employee tips can be B-class income declared in GPM311. In 2026, the relevant non-employment income category is taxed at 15% up to a combined 12 VDU; excess is subject to 20%, 25% or 32% under the annual-income thresholds. The payment route and actual legal relationship determine treatment; a platform payment alone does not establish exemption from employer taxes.
- Poland: Tips paid directly to staff (not channeled through restaurant revenue) are treated as personal income. Supports BLIK and local bank payment methods.
- Spain: Tips received by staff are employment income (rendimientos del trabajo) for IRPF. Direct platform transfer does not remove declaration obligations. Withholding, payroll and social-security treatment depend on who controls and distributes the funds. The venue remains responsible for its fiscal receipts and applicable VeriFactu/TicketBAI obligations.

Who It Is For
Any restaurant, bar, café, hotel, or spa where staff previously received cash tips. Particularly effective in venues with table service, high international guest traffic (multi-language tip page), or a strong incentive to grow Google review volume.
Frequently Asked Questions – Tips & Reviews
Do guests need to download an app?
No. The tip and review flow opens directly in the phone's browser or camera app after scanning the QR code.
Can the restaurant still accept cash tips?
Yes. GlobalTips is an additional channel and does not replace cash. Both can operate in parallel.
How quickly are tips paid out to staff?
Payout options and timing are shown in the Staff App and depend on account eligibility, payment-provider and banking rules. Instant payout may be available; standard payout commonly takes 1–2 business days.
Can tip amounts be suggested or pre-set?
Yes. Venues configure suggested tip percentages or fixed amounts to match their price level and service style.
What payment methods are supported?
Apple Pay, Google Pay, bank cards (Visa, Mastercard), BLIK (Poland), Bizum for online payments in Spain. Processing depends on the payment flow; GlobalTips works with providers including Stripe and Montonio.
2. Interactive QR Menu
What It Is
GlobalTips' Interactive QR Menu is a cloud-based digital menu delivered via a unique QR code per table. Guests scan once to access a fully featured menu in their preferred language – with photos, allergens, modifiers, and live availability – without downloading an app or creating an account. Operators update the menu in real time from any device; the QR code never needs reprinting.
Key Features
- 140+ languages with AI-powered automatic translation – critical for venues in tourist destinations or international cities.
- Real-time updates: price changes, dish availability (sold-out items disappear instantly), and seasonal edits take effect immediately across all QR codes.
- Rich content: high-resolution dish photos, ingredient lists, allergen tags, portion options, and modifiers.
- Per-table QR codes: each table has a unique code that can pass table number data directly to the ordering or payment system.
- Custom URL: the menu is accessible at a branded URL as well as via QR scan.
- No app download, no registration required for guests.
- POS sync: menu items and availability can be linked to POS inventory in supported configurations.
- Available from Pro plan upward.
Measurable Results
- Eliminates printing costs and delays associated with paper menu updates.
- Reduces staff time explaining menu items or language barriers in multi-national venues.
- AI translation into 140+ languages covers virtually all tourist and expat demographics.
Connected menu, ordering and payment
GlobalTips' QR Menu is part of an end-to-end flow: menu → ordering → payment → tip → loyalty – all without switching apps or scanning separate codes.
Who It Is For
Restaurants, cafés, and bars that: (a) have frequent menu changes, (b) serve international guests requiring multi-language support, or (c) want to integrate their menu with ordering and payment in a single QR code. Included in Pro and Ultimate plans.
Frequently Asked Questions – QR Menu
Does the QR code need to be reprinted when the menu changes?
No. The QR code links to a dynamic URL. Menu content is updated in the cloud and guests always see the current version.
How many languages are supported?
140+ languages with AI-powered translation. Guests can switch language manually or it can be auto-detected from the device locale.
Can I have different menus for different times of day (lunch vs. dinner)?
Yes. Time-based menu visibility and category scheduling are supported.
Do guests need an account to view the menu?
No. The menu opens directly in the browser from a QR scan – no app, no registration.
3. Ordering & Pay at Table
What It Is
GlobalTips' Ordering & Pay at Table solution enables the full guest transaction cycle through a single QR code: scan → browse menu → place order → kitchen receives it → guest pays and tips – all from the phone, with no app required. This model suits venues that want to reduce staff pressure during peak hours while maintaining table service quality.
How It Works
- Guest scans the table QR code.
- The interactive menu opens. Guest selects dishes, adds modifications, and confirms the order.
- The order is sent directly to the POS/kitchen display system (KDS). No manual re-entry by staff.
- When ready to pay, the guest sees the live bill on their phone, splits it if needed (by item or equally), and pays via Apple Pay, Google Pay, card, or BLIK.
- The POS bill closes automatically. Staff receive a notification.
- After payment, the guest is prompted to leave a tip and a review.
Key Features
- Full ordering flow: QR → menu → order → kitchen → payment → tip in one continuous session.
- POS integration: orders appear in the POS and on the KDS in real time; the bill auto-closes after payment.
- Split bill: guests at the same table can split by item or divide the total equally.
- Live bill view: guests see the running total including any additions throughout the meal.
- Post-payment tip and review prompt: integrated after every payment.
- No app download, no registration for guests.
- POS-integrated ordering available on Ultimate plan; basic QR ordering (no POS integration) available on Pro plan.
Measurable Results
- GanBei, Warsaw: 160+ staff hours saved per month, with 80% of orders paid via QR, according to the published case.
- Reduced staff walking time: less time carrying terminals and chasing the bill, more time for service.
- Higher tip rates because the tip prompt appears immediately at the moment of payment satisfaction.
- Upselling through well-structured digital menus with photos and modifier suggestions.
Who It Is For
High-volume table-service restaurants, brunch and casual dining venues, and any operator experiencing peak-hour bottlenecks at the payment and ordering stage. Particularly effective in venues with large parties that benefit from split bill functionality.
Frequently Asked Questions – Ordering
Do guests need to download an app to order?
No. Ordering opens in the browser immediately after scanning the QR code.
Does the order go directly to the kitchen?
Yes, when POS integration is active (Ultimate plan). Orders appear on the kitchen display system without manual staff re-entry.
Can guests reorder during the meal?
Yes. The session stays active and guests can add to the order at any point.
What if some guests at the table want to pay separately?
Split bill is supported: guests can divide by item selection or split the total equally.
4. QR Payments (Pay at Table – Payment Only)
What It Is
QR Payments is GlobalTips' pay-at-table product for venues that keep traditional waiter ordering but want to modernize the payment step. The waiter takes orders as normal; when the guest is ready to pay, they scan the table QR code, see the live bill from the POS, pay digitally, and leave a tip – all without waiting for a terminal to be brought to the table.
How It Works
- Waiter enters the order in the POS as usual.
- Guest scans the QR code on the table (or NFC card).
- The real-time bill from the POS appears on the guest's phone.
- Guest splits the bill if needed (by item or equally).
- Guest pays via Apple Pay, Google Pay, bank card, or BLIK.
- The POS automatically closes the table. Waiter receives a notification.
- Guest is prompted to leave a tip and a Google review.
Key Features
- Live POS bill sync: guest sees exactly the same bill as in the POS, in real time.
- Auto-close in POS: no manual table closure required; reduces errors and double-charges.
- Split bill: by item or equally among the group.
- Multi-vendor support: relevant for food halls and shared-kitchen venues where a single QR covers multiple operators and routes payment accordingly.
- Payment methods: Apple Pay, Google Pay, bank cards, BLIK (Poland), local bank transfers (Lithuania).
- No app download, no guest registration.
- Integrated tip and review prompt after every payment.
- Real-time reporting: per-table, per-period, per-staff member.
Regional Payment Methods
Market | Supported Local Methods |
|---|---|
Poland | BLIK 6-digit code in supported online checkout; contactless BLIK is a separate Mastercard-based payment flow. |
Lithuania | Local bank payments (SEB, Swedbank, Luminor where enabled), Apple Pay, Google Pay and bank cards. Fiscal receipts remain the venue’s responsibility under i.EKA where applicable. |
Spain | Bizum for online payments in Spain, Apple Pay, Google Pay and bank cards. The venue’s billing system handles applicable fiscal requirements. |
All markets | Visa/Mastercard online card checkout, Apple Pay and Google Pay, subject to the enabled checkout configuration. |
Who It Is For
Full-service restaurants, hotel restaurants, bars with waiter service, and food halls. Venues that want to keep human service at the ordering stage but eliminate the friction and waiting time at the payment stage. Also suited for venues where tipping rates are low because guests find it awkward to tip on a terminal held by the waiter – digital tipping removes this friction.
Frequently Asked Questions – QR Payments
Does this replace the POS?
No. GlobalTips QR Payments works alongside the existing POS and syncs with it in real time. The POS remains the system of record.
What happens if the guest's payment fails?
The guest can retry with a different payment method. The bill remains open in the POS until payment is confirmed.
Is BLIK supported in Poland?
BLIK code payments are available in the supported Polish online checkout. Contactless BLIK is a separate Mastercard-network payment flow. BLIK-code entry in Mobile Terminals is planned, not currently available.
Can one table be split between different payment methods?
Yes. Each guest can pay their portion independently with their preferred method.

5. Mobile Terminals (Tap to Pay)
What It Is
GlobalTips' Mobile Terminals product turns a compatible smartphone into a contactless payment terminal using SoftPOS technology. Staff use the GlobalTips Staff App on a compatible iPhone or Android phone to accept contactless cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay directly at the table, without a separate card reader. The product uses Stripe Terminal SDK. PIN entry on the phone screen is enabled when required and supported for the transaction.
How It Works
- Staff member opens the GlobalTips app on their phone.
- The bill amount is pulled automatically from the POS (or entered manually).
- Smart Tipping prompt appears – guest selects a tip amount (percentage or custom).
- Guest taps their contactless card, iPhone (Apple Pay), or Android (Google Pay) to the back of the staff phone.
- When the payment requires supported PIN verification, the guest enters their PIN on the staff phone’s secure payment screen (PIN on glass). Some cards require insertion into a separate card reader instead; a higher amount does not by itself guarantee PIN acceptance.
- Transaction is confirmed. The guest can receive a digital payment confirmation via SMS, email or QR code. It does not replace a fiscal receipt or invoice issued by the venue.
- With a supported POS integration enabled, each payment is recorded against the order. The order closes in the POS once the full bill is paid.

Easy activation within GlobalTips
Mobile Terminals is an additional payment capability in the GlobalTips Staff App. Existing GlobalTips clients can activate payment acceptance under their current agreement, once account, country, staff devices and any POS connection are confirmed. New clients sign a payment acceptance agreement and complete Stripe verification.
- Typical full rollout: 24–48 hours. This timeframe applies to Mobile Terminals, not to every GlobalTips product.
- Prepared-phone activation: around 10 minutes after account verification, with compatible phones and the supported POS connection ready.
- Start with one phone: add more compatible iPhone and Android devices as the team needs them. No separate card readers to order or install.
Standalone and integrated modes
- Standalone: enter the amount in the Staff App and take a contactless payment. This does not by itself provide POS bill synchronisation.
- POS-integrated: select the table, open its bill, take a full or split payment, and record each payment against the order. The POS closes the order after full payment.
Standard includes tip acceptance on a mobile terminal; Pro adds payment acceptance; Ultimate adds the integrated mobile terminal. There is no monthly terminal rental fee. The GlobalTips subscription and payment-processing fees are separate costs.
Do we need QR payments to activate Mobile Terminals?
No. Mobile Terminals can be enabled as a GlobalTips payment product without first launching QR payments. If QR payments are also enabled, both flows use the venue’s connected POS and GlobalTips tipping tools.
Mobile Terminals case results
- Meating Room, Vilnius: 67% of payments included a tip; the average tip amount increased 3.5×.
- Dragon Tail, Kraków: 62% of payments included a tip; the average tip amount increased 2×.
These are GlobalTips-reported results for the named venues, not a guaranteed outcome for every restaurant.

- First-party guest database: operators build a direct CRM without relying on delivery platforms or third-party marketing tools.
